I'm Paula. I'm an animal lover with a passion for photography.

My grandfather was an avid photographer.  As a child, I was mesmerized by photography and its ability to tell stories, connect people with one another, and inspire awe. I was overjoyed when I bought my first camera at the age of twelve. It was a Fuji film camera (equivalent to today's point-and-shoot). The excitement I felt when I held that camera back then is still the same excitement I feel today.

Volunteering at the animal shelter and photographing the animals brought my lifetime passions together. I have been volunteering and photographing animals for over 6 years. In working with--and photographing--the shelter animals, I discovered my true calling.

My style is a mixture of photojournalism and lifestyle. I let the animal take the lead and let things unfold.  I seek to capture the unique qualities of each animal, as well as the bond between people and animals. To me, this is what the work is about: capture the love we have for one another.

Back home, I share my crazy life with my son, Anthony; my cats, Nala and Sasha; and my dogs, Lola and Mr. Pepper. We live in Los Angeles, California.
